New Polar Research Ship Named “RRS Sir David Attenborough”
Last Thursday the UK's new polar research ship was officially named the “RRS Sir David Attenborough”. This is as a replacement for both the RRS James Clark Ross and the RRS Ernest Shackleton who have seen an impressive collective 50 years of polar science.
Several days ago Omniaccess SL engineers completed the installation of the large 2.4m C/Ku-band antenna and in the next few days it will be activated into our satellite networks, allowing RRS Sir David Attenborough to join British Antarctic Survey´s (BAS) research stations for our round-the-clock pole-to-pole connectivity.
